Standing In Fine Linen
(Luke 23:40-42, Luke 24:45-47, John 6:63, Revelations 19:8)
Each time I read Your Holy Word
I see the benefits I receive
illustrating my need
for Your Holy Spirit--Lord, I believe
but help my unbelief
give me the faith displayed
by the dying thief, so I can stand with him
in front of you. In fine linen arrayed.
Ear Ticklers
(Jeremiah 6:14, Matthew 7:15, Romans 16:17-18, 2 Timothy 4:3-4, 2 Peter 2, 2 John 1:7)
Cursed be preachers whose words flatter
itching-eared creatures
battered with feigned service to the Lord
filled with lies
in actuality they serve
the "lord of the flies".
These preachers bring their people
down to a terrible end
they may have sweet words
but Satan is waiting to rend
and they bubble forth rotten curds
frothing with exploiting greed
carelessly stomping and trampling
the bruised reed.
Better Than Riches Or Fame
(Proverbs 31)
Your works praise you at the gates
you buy fields at reasonable rates
you are a blessing to your man
may your children bless you
repeating it again and again.
May your entire house arise
to honour your noble name
for your care for them is precious
far, far beyond riches or fame.
